History

Since its beginnings, the Parque Comercial El Tesoro has been an example of entrepreneurship. Even if 1996 was a really difficult year for Colombian economy, the project began with the conviction that in times of crisis these must be turned into opportunities to face new challenges.

Hence, the commercial and real estate businesses united forces with an optimistic view and the idea of forming the most complete and modern commercial center in the country. And they achieved it.

For the building of this great commercial conglomerate, investor´s trust, the commitment of a group of experienced commercial business men and women, the assessment by a construction specialist which is one of the most renowned internationally and the most specific details about public tastes were taken into account. The objective was to plan this space without leaving anything to chance.

After opening in 1999, the success of the Park was rotund, becoming a real positioning phenomenon. Only 7 years after its inauguration, the Commercial Park began its first expansion phase, called Project Tesoro II, which gave way to 108 new stores for the enjoyment of visitors. Currently, El Tesoro began a new and exciting adventure by beginning its second expansion project (El Tesoro III) which will be done by the end of 2010. It will have close to 1200 new parking spaces and by 2012, 80 new stores.

In its three stages, the two existing ones and the one that is being built, El Tesoro is coherent in its unmistakable architectural style, in which lighting is the protagonist of all spaces and the sky can be seen from domes. Surfaces are exhibited in detail with colors and ample gardens which give it a natural and serene sensation.

Today, Parque Comercial El Tesoro is, without a doubt, one of the biggest and most important commercial projects that has ever been developed in Medellín. A true example of strength, trust and faith in the future… A dream come true.
